About the position

The appointment of a suitable candidate into this role will form part of exciting plans for ITAB and the continued growth plans for our catalogue products area of the business.  Must be self-motivated and resilient and have the energy and drive to work as part of a team and have the determination to exceed personal, team and company targets.

This role will work to provide maternity cover, with future, long-term potential.

This role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Support the team sales plan to generate sales through, relationships, subscriptions, in and out bound new business calls and industry research
  • Ensure good awareness of current products, services and market trends. Following up on e-shot campaigns and others marketing activities
  • Project tracking with existing customers and projects
  • Advising customers of new product lines
  • Follow up pending quotations customers
  • Sales liaison and support
  • Acknowledging customer orders
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and develop brand loyalty
  • Promote the ITAB Shop Products brand by building trust and rapport with customers
  • Always thinking ahead and being prepared for the next opportunity
  • Hold regular reviews of targets and performance
  • Deliver 100% customer satisfaction with every order
  • Undertake other duties of a similar level and responsibility, which may be required from time to time
  • Develop a clear plan and pipeline for future growth

We ask:

  • Retail Awareness and Insight: The ability to understand sector specific Retail trends gathered through market research, store focused insight and consumer behaviour are key to the success of the AM.  Using awareness of the Retail sector insight and being able to translate into opportunity is a key success factor of this role
  • Opportunity: The Account Manager is also responsible for the generation of business in the assigned accounts as well as supporting new accounts for the business. The Account Manager assists in the identification and evaluation of business opportunities in line with the ITAB Business Filter and the VP of Sales / Sales Director.
  • Technology: A working knowledge of retail facing technology, covering hardware and software would be highly beneficial in creating future solutions and opportunities with the client.  Strong working knowledge and experience of payment technology including checkouts and seamless payment solutions would be highly advantageous.
  • Analytics: The Account Manager also plays an analytical role where detailed needs analysis / Return on Investment creation / proposals depending on the Clients requirements. The Account Manager also reviews target achievement and creates reports for senior account management, which facilitate the creation of informed account management decision-making and future strategy formulation.
  • Proven experience in product sales, or a support role, or similar
  • Outstanding telephone manner and email communications
  • Experience within the construction industry supply chain would be an advantage
  • Experience in Retail / Leisure sales

Technical Proficiency:

  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Ability to read and understand layouts and plans, including units of measurements
  • Technically minded, with a solutions approach

Skills & Attributes:

  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels and via all styles are a major requirement of this position. The AM must be confident in building relationships and communicating effectively from the most Junior to the most Senior level stakeholders with confidence, both internally and externally. Commercially aware, including cost, sell and margin calculations
  • Ability to focus and listen to customer’s needs
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of accuracy
  • Experience of working and nurturing productive relationships with different levels of management, colleagues, customers, suppliers
  • Methodical, highly organised and accurate approach to work and attention to detail
  • Ability to balance priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to learn and understand products quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure in a calm and mature manner
  • Self-motivated, ability to show initiative and develop creative solutions

  • The Account Manager must be a committed and goal orientated individual, be customer focused, have a positive can-do attitude, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a calm and patient outlook whilst being able to demonstrate composure during challenging scenarios


  • Good general education
  • NVQ or equivalent in telephone sales and / or customer services – advantageous
