About the position

As Head of Retail Efficiency, reporting into VP of Solution Design You will lead the Operational Excellence Service offer for MBU North through working closely with our Eco-system of Partners and in close partnership with the leads for both Lighting and Retail Design. All thought process and go to market activity when supporting customers will always commence with the consumer and customer data. The Strategy and Transformation service pillar will become the blueprint behind the storytelling and a significant driver in influencing change and supporting sales opportunities across all sectors across the MBU North sales teams.

With a key focus on improving service and operational efficiency for our customers, you will generate future savings across their operating model, drive increased conversion and reduce operating costs. By providing value add consultative services you will generate demand and organic growth with our existing customers and support the Group strategic goals.

Solution Design will continue to help drive and improve ITAB traditional product and service supply whilst building on existing and new strategic customer relationships to satisfy the growing demand for outcome-based solutions. The services on offer will cover many expertise ranging from consumer experience through to store effectiveness and digital experience.

This role will include but not be limited to: 

  • This role will lead and manage a wide team of partners that are experts in efficiency and service optimisation in which utilise data and insight to analysis and illustrate patterns and consumer behaviours to support decision making. Your methodology and ways of working will become the blueprint for the business and support our customers in driving measurable solutions that drive return of investment for the short, medium, and long-term.
  • Through driving consumer focused solutions reflective of the brand and building strong embedded relationships at c-level across global customers. This will drive dialogue between the solution and the customer and help move the traditional transactional procurement conversations into a deeper and more value adding partnership which is return will open access into wider markets and generate annual growth and return to the group P&L.
  • To achieve the vision the role of Head Retail Efficiency, you will need to be able to lead a team of professionals across MBU North to translate and articulate fresh thinking to a senior stake holder / C-level engagement for varied sectors and initiatives to deliver consumer focused solutions.
  • The ITAB vision is to become a Solution Provider by helping customers turn consumer brand experience into physical reality with our know-how, solutions, and eco-system of partners.
  • Head Retail Efficiency must be aware of best practice in service optimisation, consumer expectations and competition to best translate solutions and enforce our key point of difference.
  • The jobholder must have experience and competence in applying data into projects to aggregate and analyse required outcomes.
  • Working to project budgets and helping to drive and deliver long lasting relationships with new clients that drive annual growth and return to the group P&L.
  • Support in building data into future business opportunities that support capital measures to build out ROI investment plans.
  • Create and develop a workshop suite that can be implemented with customers as a paid for consultancy event or as a sales tool.
  • Enable organic growth of existing account through assisting sales team with new opportunities and cross selling.
  • Contribute to the monthly sales meeting activity with updates on activity and training/coaching.
  • Identify new opportunities to and help maintain ITAB’s ecosystem of partner organisations and individuals.
  • Build relationships across ITAB business platforms: Interiors, G&C and Lighting whilst ensuring commonality on the core vision and ways of working across both MBU and SBU.
  • Both confident and competent at presenting and influencing at a senior level across multiple stakeholders.
  • Fully understand and lead the brief and scope of works for branded projects and ensure the full implementation meets the customers’ requirements.
  • Responsible for working across the ITAB Group and leading wider business units with regards to the right way of working and delivering aligned group solutions.
  • The role will be a key conduit for working closely with all teams in project managing expectations based on brief and delivery for the end client.
  • Manage and influence a cross functional number of experts including internal colleagues, external consultants, brands, and contractors.
  • Influence strategic planning for our customers at senior stake holder and C-level.
  • Strong attributes in thought leadership and managing to strengthen retailer relations further.
  • Influence and support new ways of working and strategy for the wider Solution Design Services across all MBU regions.
  • Inform and liaise with all relevant internal teams to enable successful project delivery with clear handover.
  • Work closely with customers during ongoing projects and liaise with relevant dept./eco-partners through full end-to-end. 

Technical Skills & Experience: 

  • Extensive track record of directing and delivering new strategies which maximise efficiency, reduce cost and increase ROI. 
  • Influence strategic planning for our customers at senior stake holder and C-level.
  • Provide added value to our customers through efficiency led thinking and strategy.
  • Strong attributes in thought leadership and managing to strengthen retailer relations further.
  • Influence and support new ways of working and strategy for the wider Solution Design Services across all MBU regions.
  • Identify new opportunities to and help maintain ITAB’s ecosystem of partner organisations and individuals.
  • Well-developed project management ability, with budget formulation and senior management experience.
  • Proven track record of leading innovation and change management including managing potential resistance and conflict.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and pitch presentation skills at all levels.
  • Well-developed leadership, motivational and organisational skills.
  • Proven track record of leading innovation and change across multiple regions.
  • Proactively lead and manage change into the business whilst demonstrating analytical thinking and clear decision-making.
  • Wide range of interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt style when communicating and managing stakeholders, project team members and suppliers at all levels is essential.
  • Proactive process and project leadership skills are required to challenge existing solutions and develop new initiatives whilst highlighting project risks and programme status.
  • Full understanding of the retail landscape and how it operates and performs across the different sectors.
  • Ability to drive future cost savings, reduce operating costs and increase conversion.
  • Good knowledge of efficiency models and forward-thinking methodology / practices.
  • Strong commercial acumen to negotiate and lead the instore branded initiative activity.
  • Excellent knowledge of the shop-fitting supplier market in the UK&I and globally.

Qualifications: 

  • Education to (MIN) 2:1 Degree standard in relevant field of expertise.
  • Strong retail background and Operational experience.
  • Educated / Experience in Operational Efficiency, Strategic Planning and Leadership (desirable).
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Windows, Office, and Excel.
